Job Summary:
- Oversight and management of all Data within SQL Server and SQL Server related components to include SSIS and SSRS. Supporting both environment-based data information, as well as proprietary platform data management. Monitoring and standardization of tables, indexes and relational database software, provisioning users’ access to databases, securing data, tuning data base performance and disaster recovery.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create and configure new Microsoft SQL Server instances

Manage database backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery planning- Database access security and integrity, data storage design, and data storage administration
- Participate in continuous process improvement
- Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates.
- Configure and maintain SQL Security controls
- Make recommendations for system architecture per Microsoft SQL Server best practices
- Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans
- Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible
- Troubleshoot application sluggishness and poor performance
- In charge of T-SQL query tuning
- In charge of database migrations and server updates
- Create documentation and training for routine database administration activities
- In charge of big data ETL into SQL Server, as well as authoring and modifying SQL Server Reporting Services reports
- Work with development team to integrate SQL Server with corporate applications based on defined standards
Required Skills/Abilities:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related experience
- Extensive knowledge of SQL and SQL server tools
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructures
- Understanding and/or experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible
- Experience in Database Performance, Development and Maintenance
- Experience in Data Modeling and ETL methodologies
- In-depth understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring requirements
- Extensive knowledge in database design, implementation, and conversion
- Experience with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS
- Written and verbal communication abilities
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
