As Human Resources (HR) Manager, reporting to the Director of Operations for Theater Management Services (TMS), in addition to supervising the HR Assistant, manage broad departmental operations relating to all aspects of Human Resource Management for UCLA Performing Arts. UCLA Performing Arts with Theater Management Services (TMS) & Center for the Art of Performance (CAP) as departments is compromised of approximately 40 career employees and 240 casual staff with funding in excess of $4 million. Components of personnel management include participation in strategic planning and analysis; application of employment practices, interpretation and application of policies, salary reviews and advisement on personnel actions; the development and maintenance of staffing and positions including analysis, hiring, classifications and standards; employee relations including team building, conflict resolution, and disciplinary process. Components of payroll management include overseeing and development of management systems and reports related to personnel cost reporting and analysis, development of staffing needs projections and any related financial impact to address organizational demands and needs, overseeing and/or initiating transactions in online Time Reporting System (TRS), reconciling expense and accrual reports on periodic basis and reconciling Payroll ledger on a monthly basis. Components of HR functions include overseeing Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Worker's Compensation cases. Other duties of the position include serving as the department's Parking Coordinator and the department's custodian of various staff rosters and directories. Represents both departments as the human resources office to employees, employee organizations, campus human resources, campus payroll office and other relevant groups and university offices.Percentage of Time:

Demonstrated working knowledge of UCLA staff personnel policies and payroll policies, procedures, organizational structure, as well as collective bargaining agreements.

Working knowledge of standard personnel, payroll and online functions, systems and procedures, including personnel forms processing benefits administration and record management.

Knowledge of University personnel/payroll programs and policies such as: UCPath, Time Reporting System (TRS), Online Financial System Reports (OFSR), Query Data Base (QDB) and the web-based People Admin System.
