SUMMARY
The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is a major command of the United States Army headquartered at Fort Eustis, Virginia. It is charged with overseeing the training of Army forces and the development of operational doctrine. TRADOC recruits, trains, educates, develops, and builds the Army, establishes standards, drives improvement, and leads change to ensure the Army can deter, fight, and win on any battlefield now and into the future.
We are seeking a dedicated Business Analyst to join our team on the (TCASS) TRADOC Cloud & Ancillary Support Services contract. In this role, you will provide analytical support in our migrations, our day-to-day operations cost, and all projected configuration change costs. Your primary focus will be on cost savings and projections, aiding in the strategic decision-making process related to cloud operations and optimization.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively participate in the evaluation and optimization of migrating applications for cost-efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive cost models for cloud migration and operations, taking into account potential savings and investments.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Cloud Engineers and Senior Developers, to understand project requirements and provide cost analysis and financial insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from various levels (Government, Vendors, Contractors) to gather necessary information and communicate financial implications.
- Conduct regular reviews of cloud expenditure and usage to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor and forecast future cloud costs and provide strategic advice based on your analysis.
- Develop and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on performance or functionality.
- Prepare clear and concise financial reports, presenting them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
- ITIL CD&S
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
- MA/MS or BA/BS Degree.
- 10+ years of relevant experience (with MA/MS) or 12+ years’ experience (with BA/BS).
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within a cloud-based ecosystem.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate complex datasets and generate useful insights.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud economics, including cost structures of various cloud services (Azure, AWS).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface with leadership and communicate financial findings effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and contribute meaningfully.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using Microsoft Power BI to develop comprehensive dashboards and reports, ensuring that relevant stakeholders have clear visibility of key performance indicators and insights.
- Knowledge of the public sector, specifically Department of Defense cloud policies.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Azure DevOps (Boards) or Jira.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions
- Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
- Potential travel to support locations across the TRADOC organization.
Strength Demands
- Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
