Branch Manager

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the management of all activities related to the branch, including P&L, Operational service delivery and quality, client relationships and key account management, operational excellence and optimisation

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibility for day-to-day management of the business, overseeing operational logistics, leading the operational team, developing client relationships and sales growth and delivering excellent service standards. On a strategic level work closely with peers and regional management team to deliver process improvement and operational change. Ensure high quality work through clear leadership and motivating team to deliver high performance and growth. Also assist in developing strategies and tactics for improving operation efficiencies for global harmonization. The role has full accountability for P&L. The position will report directly to the VP, Clinical Logistics, EMEA.

  • Managing third parties (local agents, airlines, suppliers, etc) to ensure compliance with all Marken and regulatory requirements and expectations.

  • Motivating, managing and developing staff individually and collectively as a high performing team
  • Ensuring safe/ healthy/ environmentally responsible facilities, operations and staff conditions
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans in cooperation with the EMEA Logistics and Marken global leadership teams
  • Maximizing shareholder value in line with Marken’s strategic business plan
  • Contributing to corporate initiatives and sharing/incorporating network best practice
  • Creating innovative and commercially unique offerings to increase Marken’s value to our clients

Experience:

  • Operations, customer service, and/or commercial experience in healthcare supply chain/ services/ logistics
  • Line leadership experience, preferably with P&L experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships with strategic customers
  • Led and delivered operational improvements resulting in increased performance levels and profitability

Qualifications

  • Industry qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent higher education qualification
  • Min 5 years’ experience in healthcare or related industry
  • Min 3 years’ experience in logistics operations, within supervisory or branch management role
  • P&L or cost centre experience essential
  • Specialist courier experience desirable
  • Lean / Sigma certification desirable
  • Contract management experience desirable
  • EU GDP guidelines awareness essential
